Urban and individual resilience are in essence opposable, complementary and inseparable from each other. Opposable because individual resilience is too often used by our politicians to shirk their responsibilities. Complementary, because our personal balance is at the heart of their purpose. Indissociable, because both question our well-being and our ability to live well together.
This series of small-scale installations celebrates the public space of the Bastille district in Paris, point of convergence between individual and urban resilience, field of experimentation for social relations, narratives and sense of belonging, matrix of sense of place.
Each scene is reflected on a background of broken glass. While one part of the print is stable, another darkens over time as the silver paper reacts to light, raising the question of how we should deal with the fragility of our environment.

‘A nos amis de la Belle Équipe‘ was painted as a tribute to the 20 people who died at the café “La Belle Équipe” during the 2015 terrorist attacks. This fresco has since disappeared, replaced by another.
